One of South Carolina’s premier Inns and Restaurants, Woodlands Inn, closed in September. Located in Summerville halfway between Charleston and I-95, The Woodlands had operated for close to 20 years. While 25 miles from the interstate it offered an option for travelers looking for fine accommodations and dining.
With their closing, it leaves Abingdon Manor as the only option anywhere close to I-95 for luxury lodging and upscale cuisine between Richmond and Jacksonville. Only 1 1/2 hours north of Summerville and close to the North Carolina border, the Inn is halfway between New York and Palm Beach. With award winning cuisine, the restaurant is often compared to the Woodlands, Fearington Village and The Inn at Little Washington.
